"Balgandharva" at International Film Festival of India, Goa.

     Marathi movie “Balgandharva: Sound of heaven” have started receiving honors and collecting awards. Movie will be presented in Indian Panorama section of this year’s International Film Festival of India in Goa.

     The jury headed by Sai Paranjpye has chosen 23 films out of a total of 118 eligible entries.  Marathi movies will be represented with “Baboo Band Baaja” (Rajesh Pinjani) and “Taryanche Bait” (Kiran Yadnyopavit).

     The festival will be organised in Margao cities of Goa including Panaji from 23rd November  to 3ed of December , 2011.

Balgandharva award 2011 is declared to Mukund Marathe

     Prestigious Balgandharva Award for the year 2011 is declared to popular actor and classical singer Mukund Marathe. Chief ministor of Maharashtra Mr. Prithviraj Chavan will present this award. Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natyaparishad delivers this award which will be distributed in first week of July.

     Incidentally,  Pandit Ram Marathe, father of Mukund Marathe also bagged the same award in 1975. this year, Mukund's daughter Swarangi Marathe will be honoured by  Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande award.
